The Market Looks Fragile… And It Could Get Much Worse.... By Lane Clark of TPP.

Most Investors Are Hoping Markets Bounce Next Week. Hope Is Not A Strategy.

The Market Looks Fragile… And It Could Get Much Worse....

As I write this, the state of play for European equities is deteriorating quickly.

The French market is down around 7.5% from its highs.

The German market nearly 9%.

The FTSE about 4.5%.

And yet, strangely, many investors still seem relaxed.

But here’s the reality:

This could get a lot worse.

Because while Europe is already sliding… the US hasn’t really caught a cold yet.

Markets have a saying:

When America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold.

Right now?

If the US sneezes, European equities could catch hypothermia.

Why the US Hasn't Broken Yet.....

There are two possible explanations.

The optimistic one:

Tech stocks are acting as a temporary safe haven.

The less comforting one:

US investors are simply more bullish by nature.

But if that optimism cracks…

If the mood shifts from confidence to fear…

Then the real selling could begin.

And when that happens, the ripple effects across global markets can be brutal.

The Dangerous Strategy Most Investors Are Using.....

Here's what worries me most.

Millions of investors right now are effectively using the same strategy:

Hope.

Hope markets bounce next week.

Hope the news improves.

Hope the selling stops.

Hope the portfolio recovers.

But hope is not a strategy.

And hope certainly doesn't protect portfolios when markets fall.

Why We're Not Worried At TPP......

While markets were sliding last week, we weren't panicking.

We haven't been avoiding client calls.

We haven't been sitting there praying for a bounce.

We're simply doing what our strategies are designed to do.

Wait.

Most traditional portfolios are fully exposed when markets drop.

They're passengers.

They're along for the ride.

At TPP, it's different.

Our Long or Flat strategies are largely market neutral.

Our Hybrid strategies currently have minimal exposure.

Several of our Active strategies are actually positioned on the sell side.

In other words:

While many portfolios are suffering…

We’re sitting patiently on the sidelines.

Waiting.

Watching.

Preparing for opportunity.

The Weekend Choice.....

This weekend investors will do one of two things.

They will hope markets bounce.

Or they will prepare for the possibility they don't.

One approach relies on luck.

The other relies on strategy.

If Your Portfolio Is Fully Exposed Right Now…

You might want to ask yourself a simple question:

What happens if markets fall another 10%?

Or 15%.

Or 20%.

Because historically, when markets break momentum…

They rarely stop after a small drop.

At TPP, We Built Something Different.....

We don't rely on hope.

We rely on systems, discipline, and risk control.

We beat benchmarks in normal market conditions.

We protect capital when markets become uncertain.

And we're building something far bigger than just another investment service.

We're building a movement that is disrupting a stale and outdated wealth management industry.
